With just under sixty employees, three branches and a strong growth ambition, VDB was looking for a way to gain better insight into their data. As an intensive user of both Notarisdossier and Twinfield, they needed a solution that made data from these systems easily understandable. “We wanted a grip on our figures, from timekeeping to revenue and work in progress,” says Marco Haanappel of VDB Notaries. “This is crucial not only to provide transparency to our clients, but also to manage our business effectively.”
The solution: customized reports via Power BI

The impact of the implementation has been significant. Thanks to the reports, VDB can now easily monitor how teams are performing, where there is room for new assignments, and the financial health of the firm. Every Tuesday, shareholders meet to review the dashboards. “With these reports, we are really in control of our company. We see in real time where adjustments need to be made,” Marco said.
In addition, the solution provides transparency to clients. “Our clients want to know what they are paying for. Thanks to the reports, we can clearly specify where our hours go.”
The dashboards are also valuable internally. Employees can compare their own performance, and the data provides an objective basis for conversations and improvements. “Sometimes it’s confrontational, but it helps us all get better,” Marco explains “and making each other better together is our aspiration at VDB Notaries.”
